This excellent Champagne is smooth and fruity with a lightly toasty finish. Made by the award-winning team at Champagne Lombard & Cie from 40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay. The Pinot grapes give a depth of flavour to the wine that is most appealing. Exclusive to Waitrose.

The Champagne wine region is a historic province in the northeast of France, known for the production of the sparkling wine that bears the region's name. EU law and the laws of most countries reserve the term "Champagne" exclusively for wines that come from this region located about 100 miles (160 km) east of Paris. The towns of Reims and Épernay form the central hubs of the area, with many of the famous Champagne Houses based here.

Located at the northern edges of the wine growing world, the history of the Champagne wine region has had a significant role in the development of this unique terroir. It can only be made from a blend of up to three grape varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. The style of champagne can vary significantly, and each of the Houses has their own house style; a formula passed down from generation to generation.
